TPO Adviser Forum May 21

Polk Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) invites you to attend our Adviser Network community forum from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 at Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing headquarters located at 2701 Lake Myrtle Park Road in Auburndale.

Learn about the efforts to develop resiliency and carbon reduction plans within Polk County. Provide input to identify goals and strategies to help Polk TPO to create a more reliable and sustainable transportation system that meets the needs of everyone in our growing community.

The Polk TPO is now accepting public comments for our upcoming update of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). View projects on our interactive map and share your feedback. Your comments will help us prioritize improvements and make transportation in Polk County better for everyone. The comment period is open until June 8, 2024.

Target Zero

The Polk Transportation Planning Organization has adopted a target of zero traffic fatalities on Polk County roads by the year 2040.

Pedestrian and Bicycle Fatalities

Pedestrian and bicycle safety is an area of focus for the Polk TPO. There were 262 fatalities resulting from pedestrian and bicycle crashes between 2011 – 2021.
