As part of the development of its long-range plan, the TPO examined the feasibility of extending SunRail service into Polk County. The study evaluates opportunities for creating regional transit service to serve Polk commuters and visitors traveling to and from Orlando. It identifies potential staging alternatives that include initial feeder bus service. The SunRail Feasibility Study also addresses potential station locations and ridership, as well as, capital and operating costs and institutional considerations.
