Long Range Plans

The Long Range Transportation Plan is the 25 year vision for the region. The current plan guides transportation development through the year 2030.

Projects in the LRTP must be cost-feasible, meaning the region must have available funding sources to pay for the improvements. With a list of needed improvements that is far greater than available funds, the development of the LRTP requires local elected officials and transportation experts to make difficult decisions that will have a tremendous impact on the future of Polk County. Because of the importance and magnitude of the plan, its development incorporates extensive technical analysis, cost feasibility studies, stakeholder input, policy debate and public involvement.
